2009 Opening Speaker - Steven Brown
Prior to his current roles, Steven held the title of Vice President of Strategies and Operational Support for Bank of America’s U.S. credit card portfolio. He completed his undergraduate studies in business finance and psychology at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. And after obtaining his MBA in Finance and Operations in 2005 from Clark Atlanta University, Steven spent four years with Bank of America. Some of Steven’s notable achievements include being selected as a distinguished leader in the first Management in Action class endorsed by Bank of America, being awarded associate/manager of the of the year for various years, and being selected to represent Bank of America at the annual diversity conference orchestrated by the National Black MBA Association where he has recruited and spoken on behalf of the Bank. Part of Steven’s 10 year plan includes pursuing a PhD in Organizational Science, with UNC Charlotte being his top choice school. He is currently doing doctorial research for the Organizational Science department at UNC Charlotte which focuses on the dynamics of workplace meetings and employee satisfaction. For fun Steven likes to golf, read philosophy, race his motorcycle, spend time with his family, play in the local softball league, and travel the world (in no particular order). Steven is based out of Charlotte, NC and resides in Indian Trail, NC with his wife, Nicole, and two daughters, Jayla and Anias. |
