The LGBTQ+ Staff and Faculty Caucus and the Office of Identity, Equity, and Engagement (formerly the Multicultural Resource Center) are hosting a hot breakfast on Sunday, Aug. 19, before the Bank of America Charlotte Pride Parade. Breakfast is free to all students, faculty and staff, and the first 150 people to arrive will receive a free T-shirt. Breakfast will begin at 9 a.m. in Popp Martin Student Union 200.
Following the meal, anyone who wants to march with the UNC Charlotte community in the parade can meet at the light rail station on campus at 10:30 a.m. to catch the 10:45 a.m. train.
While breakfast is free, to ride the light rail, participants will need to bring their UNC Charlotte Student ID or pay for a light rail day pass.
Those who can't make it to the breakfast but still want to march can line up with UNC Charlotte on Tryon Street and 11th Street between 11:30 a.m. and noon.
The Charlotte Pride Festival & Parade is a two-day event in Uptown Charlotte on Aug. 18 and 19. For more information, visit charlottepride.org.
