{WE} Women Empowerment Series: Jealousy

The {WE} Series will focus on encouraging, empowering, and teaching women to be confident, own their accomplishments, and love their bodies by exploring a variety of college women's issues.

The Safe Zone 2.0 program is designed to actively engage existing Safe Zone allies in conversations that will deepen their knowledge about LGBTQ issues on campus and around the country. These brown bag style talks will be conversations lead by experts that will help facilitate continuing education for allies on campus as we try and broaden the support for LGBTQ individuals in our community.

Safe Zone Training

The Safe Zone Program is designed to help educate faculty, staff, and students about the lives of LGBTQ identified people. This 4-hour training will culminate in the opportunity to become a Safe Zone Ally to help connect LGBTQ students to resources at UNC Charlotte.

Men of Value and Excellence (MOVE) is a conversation based series that focuses on social and academic stereotypes that male-identified students face on campus. All students will be invited to discuss, share, challenge and re-understand the complexity of how society portrays masculinity and will empower students to challenge and rewrite these standards. Lost in the South: A Conversation about Queer Youth Homelessness
Student Union Theater, 340 GHI

The Multicultural Resource Center will host a conversation centered around queer/trans youth homelessness and their needs here in the South. 

Rick Westbrooke, director of Lost-N-Found Youth in Atlanta (the South’s largest LGBTQ youth homeless shelter) will discuss their outreach and the challenges of LGBTQ youth in the South. 

We will also hear from staff members at Time Out Youth about their work in Charlotte and what we can do to support LGBTQ homeless youth all over the US.
